Thomas J. Cannizzo, a 24-year-old town resident with a background in architecture and civil engineering, has been hired as the town's new building inspector.
Cannizzo of Mohegan Road was officially appointed to the post by the Town Board Tuesday. Cannizzo, who will begin work May 15, succeeds Steve Mackey, who announced his resignation last month.
Cannizzo will be paid an annual salary of $26,428.
